Installed at the Centre Pompidou is a recreation of André Breton's studio. A display of 255 objects collected by André Breton which formerly adorned the walls of his studio at 42, rue Fontaine in Paris. Itself representing a work of total art. Arranged in random proximity were works of fine art (Picasso, Picabia, Miro, Duchamp, Matta, all very important to Breton), and a few Surrealist objects by himself. Also included were a substantial collection of primitive art, found objects, popular art stones, stuffed birds, etc.
Our own installation features a number of African and European objects as well as works by BigTown Gallery Artists. We'll be introducing the work of Lou Fink, Alison Weld and Jason Horwitz.
