Emlen
Artist Statement:
Recently I've been thinking about motion and color. One kind of motion is in the movement of the paint. Another is the motion of composition: the rhythm of space and counterspace, where and how closely objects are located in relation to each other and to the picture plane, and how all the elements are influenced by color. Sometimes, even the quietest composition can feel as if it is moving and breathing. This is a mystery that interests me a great deal. .
